Arrive at Kathmandu. After arrival in Kathmandu airport, you will be welcomed and transferred to your hotel. Overnight stay.
Day 02: Kathmandu to Besisahar (823m) by local bus then by local jeep to Syange(1100m). Duration by bus and jeep: 9-10 hours. Besisahar, the head quarter of Lamjung district, is the entry point of this route. Ride from Besisahar to Manang follows what used to be one of the world’s most spectacular hiking trails up to Thorung La (5,416m) on the Annapurna Circuit. Overnight stay in guest house.
Day 03: Syange – Dharapani (1943m) Duration: 6 hours walking. Today is the first day of trekking. The trek will cross the bridge at Tal to Manang District as the trail continues through the Manang Valley. We will spend the night at Dharapani, which is one of the major villages in the valley. Overnight stay in guest house.
Day 04: Dharapani to Chame(2713m). Duration: 6-7 hours walking. The trail turns steeper as we move upward and toward the west. The trail is leading us north of the Annapurna Conservation Area and will feature great views of Annapurna II, Lamjung Himal and Annapurna IV (7,525m). There is a number of small hot springs along the way to our destination of Chame. Overnight stay in guest house.
Day 05: Chame to Pisang (3292m). Duration: 6-7 hours walking. We will enter in the valley of Manang, situated between two snow-covered peaks. We are following the Marsyangdi Nadi River through the Valley. The trail rises 1500 meters above the river as we walk to Pisang. Overnight stay in guest house.
Day 06: Pisang to Manang (3351m). Duration: 6-7 hours walking. Today is a little longer as we make our way from Pisang. The landscape is becoming drier, much like the plateaus of Tibet. The trek will feature many panoramic views of the mountains. Overnight stay in home stay.
Day 07: Manang acclimatization day. After breakfast we will show you around the beautiful landscape, school, local farm and Tilicho Lake, the highest freshwater lake in the world. The Tilicho Lake is a famous lake from natural beauty as well as religious point of view as in 2001, Hindu pilgrims from around the world flocked to the lake convinced it is a holy spot mentioned in the Ramayan – a holy book of the Hindus. Overnight stay in home stay.
Day 08: Manang visit around. In the morning we will take you to Mila Repa’s Cave and Barge monastery, the largest monastery in the Manang District
Milarepa was one of Tibet’s most famous yogis and poets. Mila Repa Meditation Cave is the site of Mila Repa’s first one year retreat after completing his studies under Marpa. Mila Repa’s Cave, which overlooks the entrance to the hidden valley of Lapchi Gang, is entered from the gompa’s vestibule. Pilgrim’s offerings of decorated stones along the path and sweet-smelling herbs and wild flowers growing all around make this a place of great peace and beauty.
In the afternoon cooking class. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 09: Manang to Yak Kharka(4200m) – Duration: 4 hours walking. The trail turns northward as we make our way toward Thorang La Pass. The elevation continues to rise as we pass through delightful villages and pasture lands in the high mountains. Our goal is the small village of Yak Kharka. We are taking it a little more slowly because of the higher elevations. Overnight stay in tea house.
Day 10: Yak Kharka to Throng Phedi high camp (4780m) Duration: 4 hours walking. This day takes us to the lower part of the pass. Thorang Phedi is a small, but busy little village at the base of Thorang La Pass where we will spend the night. Overnight stay in tea house.
Day 11: Thorong Phedi (Thorong La 5416m) to Muktinath (3802m). Duration: 7 hours walking. As we circle the Annapurna Conservation Area, this day is the highlight of our trek as we finally make Thorang La Pass. The day is cold as we pass at high elevations which will offer incredible views of the mountains on all sides. This day will be breathtaking as you gaze at the high peaks of the Himalayas. The trail will begin a long descent to Muktinath, a sacred spot to both Hindus and Buddhists, where there are many important temples. We will spend the night in Muktinath. Overnight stay in guest house.
Day 12:Muktinath Temple to Jomsom (2700m) Duration: 5-6 hours walking. The trek continues to drop in elevation as we make our way to Jomsom. The morning will allow for visit to an Apple Distillery in Marpha, a famous tourist village situated just before Jomsom. In the 1950s horticulture was introduced in this region and Marpha is famous today for its apples. A Marpha specialty is fresh apple juice. Golden apples are squeezed to produce a rich and wonderful potion that has been described as the ‘Ambrosia of the Gods’. Overnight stay in guest house.
Day 13:Jomsom to Pokhara We fly from Jomsom to Pokhara, where we will enjoy a time of rest, free day to visit the city. Overnight stay in hotel.
Day 14: Pokhara to Kathmandu. Duration 6 hours drive. (By air it takes 40 minutes). Free afternoon for rest and shopping. Overnight stay in hotel.
